Currituck Beach Lighthouse
Stephen L. Renner, DDS
May 1998 - 8"x8" color print
[photo 7]
The red brick tower of the lighthouse is laid in one-to-three common bond and reaches 158' into the air. Connected to the base of the lighthouse is a small one-story brick building through which access is gained to the lighthouse by an enclosed passage. The building originally served as both a workshop and storage area for drums of oil used to fuel the mineral oil lamp. Today the rooms are used for exhibit space and the admissions area.
