Climb to the Top:
The Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Museum Shop are open daily in season 10am until 6pm. The site will begin closing at 5pm when Day Light Saving Time reverts back the first Sunday in November. The season begins 1-week before Easter and remains open through the weekend after Thanksgiving. The site is closed on Thanksgiving Day. During periods of high winds or thunderstorms the lighthouse tower may be closed to climbers. Winter months provide time for restoration and maintenance. Admission to the grounds and parking are free. There is a fee to climb the tower for everyone 8 years of age and older. Children 7 years and younger are admitted free with a climbing adult. Cash, checks and domestic Traveler's Checks are accepted forms of payment. We do not take credit cards. The Museum Shop accepts cash, checks and credit cards for their merchandise only and not for climbing the lighthouse. Telephone 252/453-4939 for lighthouse hours, fees and other information.

The Currituck Beach Lighthouse is a member of Currituck Heritage Park, Historic Corolla and the Historic Albemarle Tour.

Tour Groups:
Tour groups are welcome at Currituck Beach Lighthouse. Special rates are available for school groups, non-profit groups, and professionally guided tours provided the group has 15 or more climbers. Arrangements must be made at least 3-weeks in advance with the site manager. Tours are self-guided.

Prior to the tour, each person must sign a liability statement (known as a sign-in sheet) with his or her (legible) signature and full home address. The sheets are kept private and are not used for mailing lists. To save time, sign-up sheets will be mailed to the tour coordinator and must be turned in to the staff person at the entrance gate upon arrival. Tours groups arriving without completed sign-in sheets will forfeit the group rates.

Directions:
At the junction of Highway 158 and Route 12, take Route 12 heading north towards Duck and Corolla. The lighthouse entrance is 20 miles from the junction, on the left, just beyond the Currituck Heritage Park sign. You may also enter at Currituck Heritage Park and ask the guide at the entrance for directions from there.
